My journey through military service and higher education shaped a disciplined, people-centered philosophy grounded in integrity and accountability. Teaching and mentoring are not simply professional pursuits but a calling rooted in service. Every interaction reflects a commitment to excellence, ethical leadership, and developing others to think critically, act decisively, and lead with purpose in complex, high-stakes environments.

To develop current and aspiring leaders into confident problem-solvers and decision-makers by delivering intentional leadership education through instruction, workshops, and community engagement.

To cultivate a community of highly capable leaders who think independently and act with discipline, apply forward-thinking strategies with clarity, and lead through planning and accountability.

To help shape future generations of leaders who think critically and challenge assumptions, refuse complacency, bias, and groupthink, and inspire others to pursue excellence with integrity.
I began my military journey by joining the United States Marine Corps in the summer of 1984, where I swiftly advanced through boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. That summer, I went on to hone my skills in the Administrative Clerk Course. My commitment to service continued when I joined the Army National Guard as a Personnel Services Noncommissioned Officer, and three years later, I elevated my military career by entering the Reserve Officer Training Corps Simultaneous Membership Program.
By June 1994, I earned my commission as an Army Second Lieutenant in the Adjutant General Corps, specializing as a Human Resources Officer. After dedicating 27 years of loyal and commendable service, I concluded my military career in 2011. My academic achievements include a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, master’s degrees in Human Resources Development and Computer Resources Information Management, and a doctorate in Organization and Management with a focus on Leadership.
I am currently in my second career, serving as a professor in higher education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I teach a variety of courses in leadership, management, and business, while also extending my leadership education and training expertise to the broader community. Through this work, I continue to enrich future leaders by sharing my experience, insights, and lifelong commitment to leadership development.
